Miley Cyrus will revisit her iconic role as Hannah Montana in a 20th anniversary special premiering on Disney+ and Hulu on March 24, 2026, according to Disney.
The special, hosted by Alex Cooper of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, will feature an in-depth interview with Cyrus, filmed in front of a live studio audience. The set will recreate familiar locations from the original series, including the Stewart family living room and the legendary Hannah Montana closet, Disney announced.
“Hannah Montana” debuted on the Disney Channel in 2006 and quickly became a cultural phenomenon, influencing music, fashion, and children’s television. The series generated 14 platinum and 18 gold albums worldwide, along with two feature films.
The anniversary special is intended as a “love letter to fans,” offering a seem at Cyrus’s personal archival collection, appearances from familiar faces, and surprise guests. A musical performance by Cyrus is also planned, Disney+ stated.
“‘Hannah Montana’ will always be a part of who I am,” Cyrus said in a statement. “What started as a TV present became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection. The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m highly proud of. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”
Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, described the special as a celebration of the show’s enduring legacy. “’Hannah Montana’ opened the door for so many fans to dream huge, sing loud, and embrace every side of themselves, which is why its legacy continues to shine across generations,” Davis said. “Partnering with Miley on this special is a dream, and we want it to be a love letter to the fans, who remain as passionate today as they were when the series debuted almost 20 years ago.”
Prior to the special’s premiere, Disney+ is featuring a “Hannah Montana” collection for fans to revisit the original series.
During a recent interview, Cyrus playfully teased Cooper for not knowing the lyrics to a Hannah Montana song, according to People magazine.
