hilversum Activist Arrested at London Palestine Protest

seven Dutch citizens were among teh participants in a protest held in London yesterday,displaying signs reading “I am against genocide” and “I support Palestine action.” The demonstration occurred amidst a recent ban on Palestine Action within England, enacted at the end of July. The British government has designated the group as a terrorist organization, leading to the arrest and potential prosecution of individuals who support or affiliate with it.
Activist “Trees” Detained
Hilversum resident, known only as “Trees,” was arrested alongside approximately 500 other protestors. “I was put in a van. I was in it all night,” Trees recounted from a safe house occupied by fellow activists in London. She was transported to a police station in South London at 7:00 AM this morning and held in a cell.
Upcoming Court Date and restrictions
Trees was released this afternoon but faces a court appearance on November 21st.She noted she had already scheduled a court date in the Netherlands, making rescheduling difficult. Until her hearing, Trees is prohibited from participating in further protests related to palestine Action.
Facing Terrorism Charges
Trees is currently suspected of supporting a terrorist movement. She expressed her disbelief at the severity of the charges, stating, ”I think it is ridiculous that you fall under the Terrorism Act if you hold a sign.”
