Warrington Launches new Doctor of Business Administration Program, Welcoming Inaugural Cohort
GAINESVILLE, FL – The University of Florida‘s Warrington College of Business has officially launched its Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program, designed for experienced professionals seeking to advance their careers and contribute to cutting-edge research in their fields. The program welcomed its first cohort this month, comprised of industry leaders from diverse backgrounds poised to tackle complex business challenges.
Unlike conventional PhD programs focused on academic research, the Warrington DBA emphasizes applied research directly relevant to real-world business problems. This innovative approach allows participants to immediately implement their learnings within their organizations, driving innovation and strategic advantage. The program’s curriculum blends rigorous coursework with individualized research projects, culminating in a dissertation focused on a significant issue within the student’s industry.
The inaugural cohort includes professionals like Jans veldkamp,Director - Olefins Business at Nova Chemicals,and Dong Yao,Senior Project Manager at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories,Inc. Veldkamp holds an MBA from the University of Oklahoma, while Yao earned an MBA from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada.
