Inter Miami CF has signed academy graduate Alexander Shaw as a homegrown player, the club announced Friday. The 17-year-old midfielder has signed a contract through the 2026 season, with options extending through 2028-29.
Shaw recently made his Major League Soccer debut for Inter Miami, appearing as a substitute in a 0-0 draw against Charlotte FC last weekend, according to reports. Prior to his MLS debut, Shaw recorded two assists in 13 appearances for Inter Miami CF II in the MLS NEXT Pro league during the 2025 season.
“Signing my first contract as a first-team player is a blessing. It’s something I had been working for since I first joined the Academy,” Shaw said in a statement released by the club. “Now that I’m here in the first team, I’m excited to continue to play, continue to enjoy memorable moments with my teammates, and start winning trophies.”
With this signing, Shaw becomes the 11th player to progress from the Inter Miami CF Academy to the first team. The club has demonstrated a commitment to developing talent from within its academy system, providing a pathway for young players to reach the professional level.
