pujols Residents Face New Waste Disposal System, Incentive Fee in 2027
PUJOLS, France – A meaningful shift in household waste management is underway in Pujols, with residents in more urbanized areas transitioning too a voluntary drop-off point (PAV) system coupled with a forthcoming incentive fee. The changes, spearheaded by the CAGV services, aim to address the escalating volume and cost of waste treatment for the Greater Villeneuvois community.
For years, the CAGV has prepared residents for this overhaul, hosting public meetings and disseminating details through municipal bulletins like PIM No. 20. The core issue is sustainability: without reform, the rising tide of household waste threatens to become financially unsustainable for the local government. Beginning in 2026, a trial period will assess the new system, culminating in the implementation of a waste disposal fee in 2027, which will replace the existing “household waste” tax on property bills.
The new system requires residents utilizing the nine PAVs located throughout Pujols to seperate waste meticulously. designated 50-liter bags are for residual waste only – excluding glass, packaging, paper, cardboard, and organic materials. Access to the PAV terminals will be controlled via a badge issued by the CAGV (05 53 49 22 52), with each use meticulously tracked.
During the 2026 trial, every household will receive an invoice detailing the cost they would have incurred under the new fee structure. This provides a clear preview of the financial implications before the system becomes fully operational in 2027. Residents in less urbanized areas of Pujols will continue with the existing door-to-door collection service.
