Etang-Salé Hosts ‘Gourmet’ Blood Drive This Saturday
ETANG-SALÉ, Réunion - Residents of Réunion are invited to donate blood this Saturday, November 22, at a special collection event featuring an enhanced refreshment experience. The drive, hosted by the French Blood Establishment (EFS) La Réunion océan Industrie in partnership with the French Round Table, aims to boost weekend donations and attract first-time donors.
The event seeks to address a critical need: 120 blood donations are required daily in Réunion to meet patient needs. Blood product lifespans are limited - just seven days for platelets and 42 days for red blood cells – making consistent collection vital for self-sufficiency. This collection offers a more inviting atmosphere, with support from local businesses like Au Bon Fromage, Mozza Run, Steff Glacier, and Fresh Burritos, providing an improved “snack” for donors.
The EFS and the French Round Table have collaborated nationally for nearly 17 years, leveraging the Round Table’s commitment to raising awareness and fostering donor loyalty. Donors are encouraged to book appointments to streamline the process.
