Redhawks Claim Road Victory Over Shockers, 69-62
WICHITA, KS – Southeast Missouri women’s basketball secured a hard-fought 69-62 victory over wichita State on Saturday, November 18, overcoming a halftime tie and a third-quarter deficit to earn a key road win. The Redhawks demonstrated resilience and clutch shooting,capitalizing on free throws and late-game heroics to defeat the Shockers in their own arena.

the first quarter saw a tight back-and-forth battle, with Raissa Nsabua assisting Lexi McCully on a fast-break layup to briefly regain the lead for Southeast Missouri. Carmen Taylor then closed the period with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer, sending the Redhawks into the second quarter with a 15-14 advantage.
Early in the second, Nsabua connected on a 3-pointer assisted by Taylor, extending the Redhawks’ lead. taylor followed with another 3-pointer,but Wichita State responded,leveling the score at 26 with a layup from Cheyenne Banks at 2:39. The teams entered halftime locked in a 28-28 tie.
Southeast Missouri came out strong in the third, with Aa’Mya Stacker scoring on an offensive rebound and tip-in. McCully added a 3-pointer, assisted by Zoey Rixter, but the Shockers answered with a three-pointer from Abby Cater. A late jumper from Ainaya Williams narrowed the gap, but Wichita State finished the quarter ahead, 50-47.
The Redhawks rallied in the fourth quarter, converting 10 of 14 free throw attempts. A 3-pointer by McCully at 2:13 gave Southeast Missouri a six-point lead. Nsabua contributed a steal and two free throws late in the game, solidifying the redhawks’ 69-62 victory.
