Porrentruy, Switzerland – The Jura Neuchâtel Lions are benefiting from a potent combination of defensive styles this season, spearheaded by captain Tim Kapla and newcomer Anttoni Honka. Coach Greg Ireland utilizes Honka extensively, averaging 23 minutes and 58 seconds of ice time per game, including notable minutes on the power play (3 minutes). Honka recently broke through with his first two goals of the season against Ambri prior to the international break.
Despite his offensive strengths, Honka’s game isn’t without its limitations. He doesn’t offer the same level of defensive security as some players and can be challenged physically. Though, his offensive contributions – evidenced by 33 points last season – are significant enough to justify his role in Porrentruy.
