Western New York residents awoke to a picturesque scene Monday as the first⁤ snowfall of the season blanketed the​ region. Flurries began falling overnight, accumulating to create a wintry landscape across communities from Buffalo to ⁣the Southern Tier.

The snowfall, while not‌ a ‌major storm, marks the official start ‌of winter weather for the⁣ area.
