Minneapolis Actors Audition for ‘Wizard of Oz’ Roles in Illusion Theater’s 2025-26 Season
Illusion Theater will hold equity Auditions (epas) on October 20th and 21st, 2025, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, seeking performers for its 2025-26 season, including roles in a production of The Wizard of Oz. These auditions represent a critically important opportunity for Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) members to join a regional theater known for innovative productions and community engagement.
The upcoming season will feature several roles, notably Dorothy, described as a spirited and heroic young woman with a strong connection to family and her dog, Toto, and requiring a soprano vocal range. Also sought are actors to fill ensemble roles as the Scarecrow, Tinman, and Lion – characters with established personalities: a devoted but clumsy friend, a caring individual lacking a heart, and a comically fearful figure whose roars are unheard outside of Kansas. These auditions are crucial for completing the casting for the season’s productions, impacting both the artistic team and audiences anticipating the performances.
Compensation for performers will be a minimum of $482 per week (SPT 4) until January 4th, 2026, increasing to $496 per week (SPT 4) after January 5th, 2026.
Audition details and submission requirements can be found through standard EPA channels.
