6ix9ine Sentenced to Three Months in Prison for Probation Violations
Rapper 6ix9ine has been sentenced to three months in prison after being found in violation of his probation stemming from a 2018 racketeering case. The sentencing took place Friday (December 5) in Federal District Court in Manhattan, New York, before Judge Paul A.Engelmayer.
This latest legal setback for the controversial artist, whose real name is Tekashi, underscores a pattern of behavior that has repeatedly landed him in trouble wiht the law since his cooperation with authorities in the case against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. He previously served time in connection with that case and has been under supervised release with specific conditions. The current sentence adds to a history of violations, including positive drug tests and recent arrests for possession of firearms and narcotics.
During the hearing, judge Engelmayer expressed frustration with 6ix9ine’s repeated failures to comply with the terms of his release, stating, “You’ve been throwing resources at him but he’s still a dumpster fire.” The judge cited multiple incidents, including the discovery of cocaine and MDMA in 6ix9ine’s home, an assault on a man, and a positive test for methamphetamine in October 2024, which resulted in a prior 30-day jail sentence.
6ix9ine has violated his supervised release three times. Authorities raided his Florida home in March, uncovering guns and drugs, leading to a guilty plea in July for cocaine and MDMA possession. While awaiting sentencing for these violations, he also pleaded guilty to assaulting a man at a Palm Beach County, Florida mall.
He is scheduled to begin serving his three-month sentence on January 6, 2026.XXL has reached out to 6ix9ine’s attorney for comment.
