Footage has emerged appearing to show a drone attack targeting Russian amphibious aircraft at a naval base in Crimea. The incident, which occurred on September 22, 2024, reportedly damaged several planes adn infrastructure, according to Ukrainian military intelligence.

The attack underscores the escalating conflict‍ in the Black Sea region and ‍raises concerns⁢ about the vulnerability of Russian military assets in occupied Crimea. While Russia has not officially confirmed the ‌extent of the damage, the footage-verified by BBC verify-shows significant impacts at the ⁢Saky ⁣naval airbase near the⁤ city of Novofedorivka. This base was previously targeted in a similar attack ‌last year.

Data‌ indicates ⁣that in the ‍year leading up ‌to June 2024,‌ the largest number of settlement grants in the UK were awarded‍ to individuals on work visas, totaling 59,766 – representing over a third of all grants issued during that period.‍ More than two million people‍ on temporary ⁢visas held⁤ a ⁢pathway to settlement in the UK at the ‌end of last year, as estimated by the Oxford University’s Migration‌ Observatory. The Observatory conducted this analysis following the UK goverment’s May announcement regarding changes to settlement policies, noting at the ⁣time that a ⁤lack of detailed facts and limited data prevented a precise assessment of the ‌potential impact.

A recent analysis⁣ projects that by the year ending June 2025, 163,000 people‌ will be granted settlement in the UK.Of these, approximately 60,000 are expected to ⁢be on⁤ work visas, compared to 45,000 on family visas, 40,000 on refugee visas, ⁣and 18,000 on other visa types. This represents a significant ⁣increase from the 58,000‌ settlements granted in 2017, following a peak of 226,000 in 2010.
