zach werenski scored for Columbus, but a potential go-ahead goal in the second period was disallowed after a Toronto challenge revealed the Blue jackets were offside. Werenski ultimately scored his eighth goal of the season, and 121st in 10 seasons with Columbus, moving him to fifth in franchise history. Columbus goaltender Michael Greaves made 22 saves.
