Toddler Surfs Snapper Rocks with Dad – Viral Video

A four-year-old Australian boy has captivated audiences worldwide with videos showcasing his surfing skills at Snapper Rocks, one of the world’s most renowned and crowded surf breaks. Zephii Bourke, from the Gold Coast, has been riding waves with his father, Jordon Bourke, since he was just one year old.

Jordon Bourke explained that Zephii initially rode waves on a soft-top board, secured with a helmet, while his father provided support. This evolved into tandem surfing around the age of two. “He’s been on the board since he was about one,” Jordon said. “But then, he’s been on my back and sorta tandem surfing since he was about two.”

Recent footage of the pair surfing at Greenmount, shared on Jordon’s social media, went viral after they nearly completed a tandem tube ride. Jordon captioned the post, “ONE OF OUR BEST OF THE SUMMER!! A greenmount banger amongst the chaos crowd today! Missed the barrel but another ride of a lifetime! Thanks to all the legends absolutely cheering for Zephii in water.”

The father-son duo’s surfing journey began as a bonding activity. “It started out as just something to do together, and now it’s grown into probably our favorite thing to do, I’d say,” Jordon stated. “I just want him to have fun. That’s the most important thing about it, is that he has fun. I’m a full-time surf dad, and a part-time recruiter.”

Zephii himself has already identified his surfing idols. “Kelly Slater, John John Florence, Mick Fanning, Mason Ho,” he listed as his favorite surfers, demonstrating an early ambition within the sport.

Jordon Bourke regularly shares videos of their surfing adventures on his Instagram account, further amplifying their story and inspiring other families to enjoy the sport together. A recent post from six days ago showed Zephii and Jordon “charging a wave at Snapper!!”
