Easton, MD – A stunning new documentary showcasing Maryland‘s diverse landscapes will be screened at the Avalon Theater next week, featuring unique aerial footage of the Eastern Shore captured by local aviator Hunter Harris and his historic biplane. Maryland Public Television (MPT) and The Spy newspaper are co-hosting the event, offering a behind-the-scenes look at “Flying Over Maryland.”
The screening on Wednesday, September 24th, provides a rare prospect to experience the state from a bird’s-eye viewpoint across all four seasons. The film’s inclusion of Harris’s aerial work is particularly significant for Mid-Shore residents, as it presents the region’s beauty in a way previously unimaginable. Craig fuller of The Spy and Steve Schupak of MPT will present the screening, followed by a conversation about the project.
“Flying Over Maryland” utilizes Harris’s biplane to offer a unique vantage point, capturing the Eastern Shore’s character in a way modern aircraft cannot. The event is free and open to the public,with doors opening at 5:30 PM and the show beginning at 6:00 PM.
