The 19-year-old defender, currently on loan at Brujas Salamanca from San Luis, made the claim during an appearance on the Chilean sports program Deportes Ya, sparking debate among fans, and analysts.
Espinoza’s assessment comes as he continues his loan spell in Spain’s third tier. He initially joined Real San Joaquin on loan from San Luis in July 2025 before a subsequent move to Brujas Salamanca in February 2026. His loan agreement with Brujas Salamanca is set to conclude on December 31, 2026, at which point he is scheduled to return to San Luis.
