Winston-Salem, N.C. – Elon University men’s tennis continued competition at teh Wake Forest Invite this weekend, building on a spring season that saw the team reach the CAA Championship match for the fourth consecutive year.
The Phoenix are looking too capitalize on a strong foundation established in the spring, where they finished with an 11-8 overall record and a 4-1 mark against CAA opponents. Elon fell to UNCW in the CAA title match despite strong performances from All-CAA honorees Veljko Krstic, rafael Ymer, and Jack Curtis. Krstic excelled at no. 1 singles, going 10-6, and added seven doubles victories. Ymer led the team with 11 singles wins and tied for the team-best with 10 doubles wins as a freshman, while Curtis also reached double figures in both categories with 10 wins apiece. Oskar Antinheimo rounded out the postseason recognition, earning All-CAA Second Team honors in doubles.
Head Coach Maciek Sykut is entering his second year leading the Phoenix, and the team returns key players including Luke Forester, Charles Pilet, and Alonso Roca. Pilet contributed 10 wins across singles and doubles during his freshman campaign, and Roca added a pair of singles victories.
Elon has bolstered its roster with three newcomers for the 2025-26 season: freshmen Nick Fisk and sibby Rodi, and sophomore Nikola Parichkov, who joins the program after contributing to Wake Forest’s national championship team this past spring.
