Pascal Saenen, Belgian Council Member, Dies Unexpectedly at 57

Pascal Saenen, a municipal council member in Halle, Belgium, has died unexpectedly, according to reports from local news outlet HLN. Saenen was 57 years old.

Saenen, representing the Vlaams Belang party, had served on the Halle municipal council since 2019. The news of his death was announced on Thursday, with the Vlaams Belang Halle branch expressing their grief, according to a Facebook post by RINGtv.

Prior to his death, Saenen was involved in a legal dispute, having filed a complaint against Peggy Massien, a council member from the Sp.a party, alleging defamation, libel, and slander. The complaint stemmed from statements made by Massien, which Saenen reportedly found objectionable.
