The OnePlus 13 5G is now available at its lowest-ever price in India, retailing for ₹45,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration at Vijay Sales, according to reports surfacing today.
The price correction, detailed by MSN and Memesita.com, raises questions about OnePlus’s strategy as it faces increasing competition in the Indian smartphone market. The move comes as other manufacturers offer comparable specifications at similar, and sometimes lower, price points.
While the initial reception of the OnePlus 13 5G was positive, the rapid pace of technological advancement has narrowed the competitive advantage of even recently released devices. Consumer loyalty is too reportedly waning, creating a more challenging landscape for OnePlus to maintain market share. The discount at Vijay Sales is being viewed as a potential attempt to attract price-sensitive consumers, but the timing is notable given the anticipation surrounding potential successor models.
OnePlus has historically positioned itself as a “flagship killer,” delivering high-end features at disruptive prices. Although, in recent years, the company has shifted towards a more premium market segment. This price reduction could signal a strategic recalibration, aiming to recapture a portion of the market it previously dominated.
A separate offer on Amazon India presents a different pricing structure for a higher-end configuration. The OnePlus 13 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage is currently listed at ₹67,999, down from its original price of ₹76,999. With additional bank offers, consumers can further reduce the price to ₹64,999, as reported by Times Now News. The device is available in Black Eclipse, Arctic Dawn, and Midnight Ocean color options.
The OnePlus 13 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 6.82-inch LTPO 4.1 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 6000mAh battery supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. Its camera system includes a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The phone ships with Android 15 and a promise of four major Android upgrades.
Whether the price cuts will be sufficient to revitalize consumer interest remains uncertain. The smartphone market is known for its volatility, and a lower price does not guarantee success. OnePlus’s ability to effectively communicate the value proposition of the 13 5G in the current market will be crucial.
