Carson Brooks Named District Judge for oklahoma’s 20th Judicial District

OKLAHOMA CITY - in a move signaling a commitment to experienced legal leadership, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed Carson Brooks to serve as District Judge for the 20th Judicial District, Office 1. The appointment fills a crucial role within the state’s judicial system, bringing over two decades of legal expertise to Carter County and beyond.
Governor Stitt highlighted Brooks’ character and qualifications, stating, “Judge Brooks exemplifies Oklahoma’s values of integrity, service, and fairness. His deep legal experience and commitment to justice will serve Carter County and our state well.”
A Career Rooted in Oklahoma
Brooks has been a resident of Ardmore since 2012, establishing strong ties to the community he will now serve from the bench. His educational background reflects a dedication to Oklahoma institutions, having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural sciences and Natural Resources from Oklahoma State University. He furthered his education at Oklahoma City University School of Law, obtaining his law degree and laying the foundation for a distinguished legal career.
From Private Practice to Public Service
Brooks’ professional journey encompasses a broad range of legal experience. He spent eleven years honing his skills in private practice before transitioning to public service as an Assistant District Attorney in Carter County. In this role, he gained extensive courtroom experience, presiding over numerous jury and non-jury trials involving complex cases related to family law, criminal justice, and juvenile matters. this diverse experience positions him well to handle the varied challenges presented within the 20th judicial District.

Beyond his professional life, Judge Brooks is deeply connected to his family and community. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelli, and their three children, and actively participates in local activities, including attending church, hunting, fishing, and supporting the Oklahoma City Thunder.
