Verstappen mounted a fierce challenge, closing the gap to Piastri from 104 points in Zandvoort, but ultimately fell short.
despite losing the championship, Verstappen enjoyed a dominant season in several key areas. He secured 8 victories – surpassing Norris and Piastri’s 7 each – and claimed the qualifying championship with 8 pole positions, compared to Norris’s 7 and Piastri’s 6. He finishes the season as vice world champion.
