Steven Stamkos and Luke Glendening scored 39 seconds apart in the third period, propelling the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 6-4 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, according to the Associated Press.

The Oilers had previously taken a lead in the game, with goals from Derek Ryan and James Hamblin in the first period. Nikita Kucherov also scored for the Lightning during the first period. Edmonton goaltender Stuart Skinner faced numerous shots throughout the game, attempting to defend against the Lightning’s offensive pushes.

The win comes as the Oilers prepare to face the Florida Panthers at Rogers Place on Thursday, March 19, 2026, where they suffered a 4-0 shutout loss, with Sergei Bobrovsky recording 21 saves. Following the game against the Lightning, the Oilers are scheduled to play the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, November 1, 2024, and the St. Louis Blues.

Teodors Bļugers played for 15 minutes and 40 seconds during a previous game against the Oilers on November 9, 2024, registering one shot on goal, three hits, one intercepted pass, one penalty, winning four of eleven faceoffs, and finishing with a negative plus-minus rating of -3.

The Oilers recently acquired Bloom from Vancouver. The team also announced 2026 Pride initiatives and released a statement regarding Leon Draisaitl. Kris Knoblauch and Darnell Nurse provided post-game commentary following the defeat to the Panthers, as did Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Adam Henrique.

The Lightning will next face the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday morning, Latvian time.
