Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis to Compete in 10-Round Exhibition Bout
MIAMI – The upcoming exhibition bout between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis will be a full 10 rounds of three-minute boxing, with a declared winner, according to Moast Valuable Productions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian. The fight, initially slated for Atlanta, was moved to Miami after MVP withdrew efforts to secure sanctioning in Georgia.
The contest has drawn attention due to the notable weight difference between the two fighters. Davis, a lightweight world champion, currently weighs in at 9st 9lb (61kg), while Paul has previously competed as a cruiserweight at 14st 4lb (90.7kg). To address this disparity, the Florida Athletic commission (FAC) has set a maximum weight limit of 13st 13lb (88kg) for the fight.
“there will be a victor because the fighters have agreed and the commission has approved a maximum weight of 195lb for this exhibition,” Bidarian stated. Both fighters will wear 12oz gloves for the November 14th matchup, a change from Davis’ usual 8oz and Paul’s typical 10oz.
To ensure a decisive outcome, three commission-approved, world-class professional judges will score each round. Both Paul and davis are subject to the highest level of testing administered by USADA (US Anti-Doping Agency).
Paul, 28, holds a professional record of 12 wins and one loss, while Davis, 30, has 30 victories and one draw. despite holding professional licenses, the result of this exhibition will not be reflected in either fighter’s official professional record.
