Fufeng Group Considers $400M Investment & 600 Jobs in Villa María, Argentina

Villa María, Argentina – Eduardo Accastello, the mayor of Villa María, met with Bao Xin, Vice President of Fufeng Group, in Qingdao, China, on Thursday, March 19, 2026, to discuss a potential investment exceeding $400 million, according to a statement released by the Municipality of Villa María.

The meeting, held within the framework of Accastello’s institutional “Smart Cities” mission in China, focused on Fufeng Group’s potential establishment of a facility in Villa María. Fufeng Group is a global leader in biofermentation, producing amino acids and other food ingredients for both human and animal consumption, with products reaching over 100 countries worldwide.

“In the meeting, we addressed the possible location of Fufeng in our city, a company that produces all types of amino acids,” Accastello stated. “We also discussed the importance of Villa María as a corn-producing region, as corn is the basic product they leverage to elaborate the different foods and by-products with different types of vitamins, for both human and animal consumption.”

Accastello and his delegation toured one of Fufeng Group’s five research laboratories in China, where the company collaborates with local universities on product development. The potential investment, according to Accastello, could create approximately 600 jobs in an initial phase.

“We value the strategic alliance that would mean for the province of Córdoba and the city if this company were to locate in Villa María,” Accastello said. He highlighted Villa María’s advantages, including its status as a university city, its infrastructure – including highways, airports, and railways – and available municipal and provincial tax incentives, as well as a stable institutional and democratic framework.

A delegation from Fufeng Group is scheduled to visit Villa María in the coming weeks to further evaluate the project, with a potential decision on the investment expected within the next four months. Accastello indicated that discussions centered on necessary services, including gas, water, land, and infrastructure requirements.

The meeting in Qingdao was also attended by Homero Koncurat, a diplomat from the Argentine Embassy in China, and representatives from the Chengyang district, including Jiao Hongchuan, Director of the Promotion Center, and Guan Fei, Director of Economic Development.
