Newcastle’s seven goals conceded tied the most conceded by an English team in a UEFA competition, equaling Tottenham’s 7-2 loss to Bayern Munich in 2019.
Barcelona will now face Atletico Madrid in the quarterfinals. The first leg between Barcelona and Newcastle had ended in a 1-1 draw, with Harvey Barnes scoring for Newcastle and Lamine Yamal scoring for Barcelona.
