Augusta University Men’s Tennis Ranked No. 28 Nationally | ITA Rankings

The Augusta University men’s tennis team currently holds a No. 28 ranking in the most recent ITA Division II national rankings, released March 18. The Jaguars have compiled a 5-6 overall record this season, navigating a schedule that included both nationally ranked opponents and teams from the Division I level.

Augusta has demonstrated resilience in close matches, securing three 4-3 victories against Emmanuel, Coker and Francis Marion. A decisive 4-0 win over No. 12 Assumption in Hilton Head further highlighted the team’s capabilities, according to university reports. The team likewise achieved a 7-0 sweep of Benedict at home on March 9.

The Jaguars have faced stiff competition, including narrow 4-3 losses to Division I programs Campbell and The Citadel. Additional non-conference matchups included Belmont Abbey, Auburn Montgomery, and Troy. A recent match against Auburn Montgomery resulted in a 4-0 defeat, preceding the win over Benedict.

Augusta competes within the Peach Belt Conference, a consistently strong league in Division II tennis. The conference features several nationally ranked teams, including Flagler at No. 3, North Georgia at No. 12, Lander at No. 24, and Columbus State at No. 42, according to the ITA rankings.

The Jaguars will begin conference play on March 21 with a road match against Lander University.
