London – Arsenal are emerging as strong contenders to end their Premier League title drought, capitalizing on inconsistent form from rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.
Manager Mikel arteta has consistently emphasized the importance of timing in Arsenal’s pursuit of a championship, pointing to previous seasons where the Gunners accumulated remarkable point totals without securing the title. In May, Arteta noted that Liverpool’s title-winning campaign last season required fewer points than Arsenal had earned over the prior two seasons.
This season, Arsenal’s strong performance coincides with a dip in form from their competitors. Liverpool, despite a blistering start with five consecutive Premier League wins, have as lost their last four matches. Manchester City’s campaign has been marked by inconsistency, with five wins, three losses, and a draw to date.
Despite the promising position, history suggests caution. Over the past six seasons, no team leading the Premier League at this stage has ultimately lifted the trophy.
However, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes this year could be different. “Arsenal are reliable, you can trust them,” Neville stated on Sky Sports. “This is your title,Arsenal. I’ve never really felt that sure before, it’s so early in the season, but it really is [yours].”
Neville continued,”That’s not being overconfident,or placing pressure. Arsenal must feel it themselves. This is the moment Arsenal can get back to [winning the title]. The chance is there for them; they have to take it.”
