Topeka, KS - The Capper Foundation, in partnership with I GOT THIS Foundation and the Topeka Country Club, will host its 2nd Annual I GOT THIS Golf Camp this fall, offering adaptive golf instruction to athletes ages 13 and up, including adults. Registration details and costs will be announced at a later date.
This specialized camp aims to introduce the fundamentals of golf to individuals with Down Syndrome and/or Intellectual Disability, fostering a love for the sport and its associated benefits. The camp will run from October 4-8, 2026, from 4:00pm to 6:30pm daily at the Topeka Country Club, located at 2700 SW Buchanan, Topeka, Kansas.
Athletes participating in the camp must demonstrate controllable behaviors and possess the mobility to stand and walk.A dedicated Playing Partner – a family member or friend familiar with the athlete’s needs – is required for each participant to provide assistance throughout the five-day program. No prior golf experience is necessary for either the athlete or their Playing Partner.
Professional golf instructors aligned with I GOT THIS Golf camp will lead the instruction. The capper Foundation and Topeka Country Club will not provide volunteer buddies; athletes must supply their own Playing Partner. Equipment will be provided for athletes who do not own clubs, while Playing Partners do not need to bring their own. Participants are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes, appropriate golf attire, and sunscreen.
