Maduro Reportedly Proposed Collaboration with Trump on Criminal Group Takedown
WASHINGTON D.C. – Nicolás Maduro’s government reportedly proposed a collaboration with donald Trump to target members of the Aragua Train, a transnational criminal organization, according to a Bloomberg report.The offer comes as the White House prioritizes the dismantling of groups perceived as threats to U.S. security and as Trump has directly accused Maduro of leading a drug cartel.
The proposal, details of which remain unconfirmed, suggests a potential shift in Maduro’s strategy amid escalating pressure from the U.S. government. Washington has focused on eliminating groups like the Aragua Train, which operates across Latin America and is linked to crimes including drug trafficking, human trafficking, extortion, and murder.Trump, as returning to office on January 20, has emphasized strengthening national security, hardening immigration policies, and specifically designated maduro as the head of the “Los Soles” cartel, alleging his control over a significant portion of the illegal drug trade to the U.S. and Europe.
According to a statement released in response to inquiries,the U.S. government’s policy remains focused on maximizing pressure on Maduro’s regime and is not pursuing negotiations that would benefit it.
The aragua Train has expanded its operations throughout numerous countries in the Americas. The White House has given special attention to such groups, establishing their elimination as a central objective. There has been no official pronouncement regarding Maduro’s alleged proposal to Trump.
