GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – Gwynedd Mercy university field hockey goalkeeper Williams earned a spot on the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Field Hockey Weekly Honor Roll,announced Monday,September 23. The recognition comes after a strong week that included her first shutout victory of the season.
Williams’ standout performance anchored Gwynedd Mercy’s 1-1 week, highlighted by a 1-0 victory over Cedar Crest College on September 19. She recorded two saves in the win, her first of the season (1-1 overall). The Griffins concluded their seven-game home stand with a narrow 3-2 loss to Ramapo College on September 20, where Williams made six saves.
The AEC weekly awards also recognized Manhattanville College’s Shannon Kenna as Field Hockey Player of the Week and Immaculata University’s Mackenzie Schrack as Defensive Player of the Week. Gwynedd Mercy University (2-5) will return to action on Wednesday, September 24, with a 7:00 p.m. contest at Moravian University.
