Travis Kelce described the intense emotions he experienced while proposing to Taylor Swift, revealing he was overcome with nerves and even tears during the moment. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end shared details of the proposal in an interview with Fox Sports’ Erin Andrews, following the couple’s public announcement on August 26th. Photos released with the announcement showed kelce kneeling as Swift held his face, appearing to take place in a garden.
“The palms were definitely sweating,” Kelce admitted to Andrews. “I’m an emotional guy, so there were a few tears here and there.” He added, “It’s been an exciting ride up until this day, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her.”
Kelce and swift began dating after Swift attended a Chiefs game in Kansas City in July 2023,following her “Eras Tour” stop in the city. Kelce previously recounted on his podcast his initial attempt to connect with Swift by trying to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number, an effort that ultimately proved unsuccessful before they eventually linked up.
The interview also touched on Kelce’s future with the NFL, as speculation arose regarding whether the three-time Super Bowl champion would return for a 13th season. Despite the Chiefs’ recent 40-22 Super Bowl loss to the philadelphia Eagles on February 11, 2024, Kelce expressed his continued passion for the game.”I love what I do,” Kelce stated. “I’m still a kid on Sundays that enjoys every single aspect of the game. I built a family here. I don’t want to give that up yet. I still feel like I’ve got a lot to prove.” The interview aired on September 14, coinciding with a rematch between the chiefs and Eagles at Arrowhead Stadium.
