Warsaw, Poland - Eligible Polish citizens are receiving a monthly energy lump sum payment from ZUS (Social Insurance Institution), nonetheless of income level, to help offset rising energy costs.
The benefit, available to pensioners and other qualifying individuals, is disbursed alongside regular pension supplements.In the event of a recipient’s death, the right to the energy lump sum can be inherited by their closest relatives. Individuals entitled to receive a lump sum must complete the ZUS-ERK form, available at ZUS branches and on the Institute’s website. Officials have 30 days to issue a decision on applications, and appeals of negative decisions are directed to the labor court via the senior official.
To support an application, claimants must also include a decision from the head of the Office for Veterans and Victims of Oppression confirming periods of veterans’ activity; compulsorily employed soldiers will also require a certificate from the Military Reinforcement Command.
