ZTE releases first smartphone with camera behind screen in EU in two weeks – Tablets and phones – News

ZTE will release the Axon 20 5G, the first smartphone with a camera behind the screen, in the European Union in just over two weeks. The manufacturer has announced this. How much the device will cost is not yet known.

It is a 32-megapixel front camera that looks through a small transparent part of the screen, appears on the product page. This is already happening with optical fingerprint scanners behind the screen. The difference here is that the software has to convert the image from the front camera into normal photos and thus correct for the obstruction of light by the pixels in front of it. ZTE mentions the application of several dual-control chips, integrated driver circuits, a special pixel matrix and a self-developed selfie algorithm

ZTE presented the phone in September, but has only now announced that he is coming to Europe on December 21. The OLED screen, which also has a fingerprint scanner behind it, has a diagonal of 6.92 “and a resolution of 2460×1080 pixels, resulting in a screen ratio of 20.5: 9, with a size of 16.1×7.1cm and a surface of almost 114 square centimeters. The rear cameras are a primary 64-megapixel camera, a camera with an ultra-wide angle lens of 8 megapixels and two 2-megapixel cameras: a macro camera and depth sensor.

The new phone comes in three variants: 6GB ram and 128GB storage, 8GB ram and 128GB and 8GB ram and 256GB. Prices in China are 2198, 2498 and 2798 Chinese yuan.
