Ziganda, new coach of Oviedo | Radio Asturias

José Ángel Ziganda is the chosen one to obtain the salvation of Real Oviedo. After the removal of Javi Rozada, the club made the arrival of the Navarrese coach official until the end of the season, with a more optional campaign. It will be presented tomorrow, Wednesday, at 1:30 pm, at the Carlos Tartiere.

Will be accompanied by Bingen Arostegui as second coach, and will maintain the rest of the technical staff with Alberto Martínez (physical trainer), Sergio Segura (goalkeeping coach) and Jaime Arias (analyst).

This Wednesday he will direct his first session in front of the blue team behind closed doors and on Sunday he will debut on the bench of the Carbayón team at the Anxo Carro against Lugo. Ahead is the difficult ballot to achieve permanence, which is now one point away, when fourteen days remain before the end of the league competition.

His last stage as a coach dates back to the 2017/2018 season at the helm of Athletic Bilbao in the First Division, coming from the rojiblanco subsidiary, where he finished in sixteenth position.

Ziganda, who also passed through the ranks of Osasuna and Xerez in the highest category of Spanish football, only trained one campaign in Second and ended with the decline of Bilbao Athletic in the 2015/2016 academic year.

On the other hand, the until now second coach, Javier Benavides, will continue to be linked to the club in tasks that will be defined in the coming days.
