Halfway through, RFS tried to escape and hit the goal post, but a minute and a half before the final whistle, Darko Lemajičs struck the crossbar with his head.
The Rigans hit the gate structure five times after the break, but the last, fourth, minute attack of the compensation time bore fruit. After passing Tomislava Šariča from the penalty area, Lemajičs put the ball on the head of Zjuzinam, who hit it – 2: 1.
In the first meeting of both teams this season, “Daugavpils” lost the lead at home and gave up 2: 3.
It has already been reported that before that “Ventspils” played “Jelgava” with 5: 0 (3: 0) in their field, but “Valmiera” missed the victory and fought a draw 1: 1 (1: 0) with “Liepāja” at home.
At the end of the round on Monday, Tukums 2000 ″ / TSS will host Jūrmala “Spartaku” in its square.
On Saturday, “Riga” and “Metta” had to meet in the Optibet Premier League Championship, but the game has been postponed, as the championship team will play their first UEFA Champions League qualifying tournament game on August 19 in Tel Aviv.
“Riga” is in the leading position of the Premier League, which has accumulated 39 points in 14 games, the second with 37 points in 15 battles is RFS, but the third place with 25 points is taken by “Valmiera”. “Ventspils” has scored 20 points in 15 dues, Jurmala “Spartak” has 19 points in 13 fights, but “Daugavpils” and “Metta” team have 15 points in 15 and 14 matches. “Jelgava” has 14 points in 15 fights, “Liepāja” has 13 points in 14 games, but “Tukums 2000” / TSS has scored four points in 14 duels.
This season, ten teams will start in the Super League, which is one more than last year and two more than yesterday. Also, this season in the Super League, the legionnaire limit has been raised to eight players. As in many other countries, the number of permitted substitutions has been increased from three to five after the coronavirus break in the regulations of the Premier League championship in the 2020 season.
Due to the three-month forced break, three will be played instead of the four planned laps this season.
Last year, “Riga” was crowned Latvian champion, but RFS won its first trophy in the history of the club, which won the national cup.
