The expert emphasized that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are conducting counter-offensive actions in the Kherson direction, and not a counter-offensive.
Occupied Kherson subject to a fire advantage and a sufficient number of troops, it can be besieged in two days. After that, it will be necessary to conduct a special operation or put forward an ultimatum to the invaders demanding to surrender.
This opinion was expressed by a military expert, Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleg Zhdanov during a live broadcast with Mark Feigin.
According to him, in the event of a siege of the city, the Antonovsky bridge located next to it across the Dnieper must be “cut off” for the enemy.
“Then they have [для отступления] only the Dnieper River, on oars, boats … Personnel can be taken out, but they must be taken in a fire bag. Artillery should work along the Dnieper and prevent the group from leaving. This option can be considered, but the most important thing is the availability of a reserve, the necessary forces and means in order to besiege the city,” the expert explained.

Zhdanov stressed that now the Armed Forces of Ukraine are not conducting a counteroffensive in the Kherson direction – counteroffensive actions are underway.
“They are successful. We are trying to develop this success as much as we can. But there are very fierce positional battles, artillery, aviation, both ours and Russian, are working. They are hitting each other with terrible force, they are trying to hold back our advance, we are trying move forward. Such a picture is emerging there. But to say that tomorrow we will go on the offensive – no, there is nothing. So far there is nothing, “he explained.
