As you know, earlier US President Joe Biden suggested that Ukrainian President Zelensky temporarily leave Kiev and move to Lviv in the event of an escalation of the conflict with Russia and because of the threat to life.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that the President of Ukraine refused such a step and remains in the capital.
“The President of Ukraine remains in Kiev and continues to lead the country,” Psaki said.
Note that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba also commented on the possibility of evacuating Zelensky. He stated that the president would not be evacuated because he preferred to stay with the people in difficult times.
“The President will always be with the people of Ukraine. The President of Ukraine is convinced that if we maintain unity, we will win in the end,” Kuleba said.
