This year alone, more than 400 volunteers who participated in the ATO received the status of a participant in hostilities.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the IV International Volunteer and Veteran Forum of Ukraine 30 promised to resolve the issue of pardoning convicted ATO-OOS veterans after the conclusions of the relevant commission.

According to Zelenskiy, the beginning of the Russian aggression in 2014 showed the “weaknesses” of the Ukrainian army and “gaps in our legislation.” The President added that for legal assistance to the military, he created an Advisory Council for Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Ukraine’s Defenders.

He said that this year alone, more than 400 volunteers who participated in the ATO received the status of a participant in hostilities. Also, about 500 war veterans and family members of the victims will receive monetary compensation in 2021 to purchase their own housing.

Zelenskiy recalled that parliament passed a law on a military funeral ritual, and the government began to create a national war memorial cemetery.

Let us remind you that an electronic register of veterans will be launched in test mode in Ukraine by the Independence Day.
