Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday expressed frustration with military leaders, after they added restrictions on the movement of military personnel. The decision on the new restrictions was made without the president’s approval.
The new restrictions will require Ukrainian conscripts, reservists and other persons subject to military service to receive permission from the military territorial centers of recruitment and social support to leave their territory, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced on Tuesday.
Public dissent is rare among Ukrainian authorities. It came as Ukrainian defenders hit back at the Russian military, limiting fighting to the east of the country.

It is planned that from October 2022, women with a military specialty in Ukraine will also be on the military register

“Dear citizens – conscripts and servicemen! I remind you that the war continues. Your country needs you,” Valery Zaluzhny, commander-in-chief of Ukraine’s armed forces, said in a Facebook post reported by Ukrinform.
Anyone who has not yet registered or renewed their military registration should do so. Those of you planning to leave your districts and areas, they must obtain permission from the territorial centerhe also stated.
Zelensky criticized the decisionsaying it should not have been taken without his involvement and that it had caused “a lot of controversy”.
“I see that there are different assessments of such a decision. There is misunderstanding and even outrage in the public,” he said, adding that he had instructed military leaders to provide him with more details about the decision at a meeting on Wednesday.
