The adventure comedy Ostrov follows the story of the quarreling couple Richard (Jiří Langmajer) and Alice (Jana Plodková). When Richard declares that he wants a divorce during an exotic vacation, the couple decide to take an early flight. But their plane crashes and they end up together on a deserted island, where they first try to “live separately”. But gradually they discover that in order to survive, they will have to forget about the divorce and start working together…
While Ostrov attracted almost 62,000 viewers to the Czech cinemas, “only” 48,492 came to see Avatar’s number two. Third place belongs to the animated Puss in Boots with the subtitle Last Wish, which attracted 37,923 viewers.
