A passion shared with the family
Zakaria Bacha-Missimi developed a taste for crafts from an early age. If he has already spent most weekends tinkering with his father, it was thanks to his older brother, Ibrahim, who discovered the world of roofing and zinc processing. After the third year, he then experimented with this profession during an internship, before embarking on the a Zingueur Technical Commercial Certificate (CTM)then a CAP Roofer with the Compagnons du Devoir.
“I did my CTM and CAP in a work-study program at Romani Bruno SAS in Brunstatt-Didenheim”Explains Zakaria Bacha-Missimi. “Since my first internship, I’ve loved the fact of feeling free out on a rooftop. It is a profession that requires a lot of logic and I am happy to pursue such a rewarding profession.“
Double best apprentice in France
On the strength of his career in these different fields of activity, Zakaria sets himself a challenge in 2021, participating in the Best apprentice in France in zinc factories. With a first gold medal in his pocket, he decided this time to compete in the ornamental roofer category. After having made a gutter with its cover, a façade tank and a pipe for the descent of rainwater, the verdict is positive. With a staggering 19.5 out of 20, Zakaria gains a new title of best French apprentice as an ornamental roofer in June 2022.
“I wanted to participate in the Best Apprentice in France to see what I was capable of. Even though it is a competition dedicated to apprentices, it was a rather risky bet. It was the jury president who contacted me the second time to tell me that I had won the gold medal. He explained to me that in 15 years as a jury, he and his colleagues had never seen such impressive pieces. He really made me very happy!“
Head full of projects
While her CAP course ended in late August, Zakaria chose to continue her studies with a work-study program within the company. Mario Ricchiuti as part of a professional roofer certificate. Once his diploma is in his pocket, he is already aiming to launch himself into the world of entrepreneurship. And it is with his brother that he hopes to be able to create a company. With their combined experiences and the support of the management courses they take along with their studies, their future already promises to be bright.
