Young people throw ice floes at Winterthur’s city bus – TOP ONLINE

The Winterthur city police arrested two youths on Tuesday evening who are suspected of having pelted a city bus with lumps of ice and snow. Nobody was injured, but the bus was severely damaged.

The young people threw the chunks of snow and ice from a bridge at the main train station down onto a bus line 1 that was traveling on Zürcherstrasse. Because of the chunks, the front window of the bus was badly damaged.

An immediately deployed police patrol was able to arrest the two suspicious young people aged 16 and 17 near the main train station shortly afterwards. They are now being investigated because of endangering life, as the Winterthur city police announced on Wednesday. They are also accused of disrupting public transport and property damage.

The Winterthur City Police have received several reports in the past few days that snowballs are being thrown at vehicles. The police reminded in their message that this can lead to serious accidents. Parents should make children and young people aware of the dangers of their actions.
