Young people from Alto Paraná are trained in the use of maquila tools

During the training developed in Ciudad del Este.

The “First training workshop on the use of the Integrated Export Maquila System (SIMEX)” was held in Ciudad del Este, with the aim of training industrial skills in young workers in the area, and socializing the new functionalities that offers the tool. The course was attended by 80 specialists from 50 companies.

In this first edition, it was oriented towards the maquiladoras of the Alto Paraná department, in order to achieve greater speed and agility in the processing of foreign trade operations, typical of the Maquila Regime in Paraguay.

Likewise, it had the objective of technically assisting companies, and providing all the necessary technological tools so that they can increase their level of competitiveness in international markets.

The workshop was attended by 80 foreign trade specialists, representing more than 50 industries, and was given by the executive secretary of the CNIME, Natalia Cáceres, and the specialists of said council, Diego Peyrat and Roberto Meaurio. The president of CEMAP, Carina Daher, and the president of CODELESTE, Linda Taiyen, also participated.

The training event was organized by the team of the Executive Secretariat of the National Council of Maquiladora Export Industries (CNIME), headed by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), in coordination with the Chamber of Maquiladora Companies of Paraguay (CEMAP). and CODELESTE.

GROWTH

In Paraguay, 262 maquiladora industries are operating, which employ approximately 22,000 people and exports of goods and services in 2022 were more than 1,100 million dollars. Of the total, 50% are located in the tenth department.
From the Executive Secretariat of the CNIME of the MIC, this type of activity is considered fundamental, in order to increase the attraction of more companies to the maquila regime; in addition to having an agile and efficient public administration, which will continue automating and simplifying processes, through the incorporation of new technological tools.
