Roberto Carvalho, second commander of the corporation, said that the collision occurred “on the regional road, towards Ponta Delgada-Capelas”, in the Azores.
The collision resulted in “a fatal victim, the 23-year-old girl who was riding the motorcycle with a 22-year-old boy who was injured,” he said.
“When the elements of the corporation arrived on the scene, the young woman was in cardiopulmonary arrest. Resuscitation maneuvers were still carried out and the young woman was transported to the hospital,” said the second commander.
According to Roberto Carvalho, firefighters were called to the event at 8:18 pm, and the causes of the accident are still unknown.
There were two ambulances for the rescue of firefighters and an immediate life support vehicle, in a total of six operational.
