Exclusive translationAmerican billionaire Elon Musk has decided to impose a new tariff on people who own the blue tick on Twitter at $ 20 per month, according to the “Daily Mail” newspaper.
Musk said the Twitter administration will regulate the verification process for users, adding, “The entire verification process is undergoing renewal,” without giving further details on what may change.
Twitter’s tech newsletter, citing two people familiar with the matter, said the company is considering charging a fee for the prestigious blue verification mark intended to verify the identity of an account holder.
Musk confirmed that this decision is expected to be implemented on November 7, noting that the implementation team will be fired if the date is not met.
There are currently more than 400,000 subscribers on Twitter, whose accounts have been officially verified and marked with the blue sign, and measures are in place against accounts that do not comply with the decision, which is currently under consideration.
