Spam is a problem for all sections of the population, regardless of whether the messages come via email or phone. Here we show which spam calls you should currently beware of.
Anyone with a phone can be the victim of spam calls at any time. In doing so, people – often on behalf of companies – report to start new contracts with users. Sometimes it is also about competitions, in other cases, users should be lured in case of costs.
Users can find out about suspicious phone numbers on various websites such as Tellows.de or anrufer-prüfung.de. Police and consumer centers also regularly warn of fraudulent calls. The company Clever Dialer has now published a current list of phone numbers that users should beware of.
Beware of these numbers
Clever Dialer warns of the following numbers for May. According to the company, these are advertising calls, sweepstakes or cost traps. If the calls cannot be clearly assigned, they are marked with “Other”.

Most reports were received via the number 06924748562. The telephone number with the Frankfurt area code had already topped the list last month. This number is particularly common for users between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Connections are said to be called dozen times in some cases. The purpose of the calls is different. According to the company’s analysis, most spam calls are made from numbers with a Hamburg area code.
At the request of t-online.de, Clever Dialer explains that the phone numbers from incoming calls were determined using the Clever Dialer app. To this end, the app collects anonymized data, and Clever Dialer does not record specific information about users, the company says. Clever Dialer cannot say whether the numbers are still active, but it is likely. Users can also view current warnings on the Clever Dialer website.
Users can report numbers

Advertising calls are permitted if users have allowed the respective company to do so. It is inadmissible to obtain consent at the beginning of a conversation. There are also so-called phishing calls. This is where fraudsters try to get sensitive user data – such as bank details. In the case of telephone fraud, users receive lock calls and should mostly call back under an expensive 0900 number.
