Who has not heard of the empty nest syndrome, has experienced it for himself. The filmmaker Lisa Azuelos He suffered it with his teenage daughter, and protagonist of “My girl”, Thaïs Alessandrin. “I started recording everything he did before he left, even the family gatherings we attended. I wanted to remember what it was like when we all lived together at home, ”explains the director, who is on the other end of the phone. When reviewing that material, Azuelos realized that behind those minutes of home footage there was a common story for many, one from which “My girl” was born, a film that hit the Spanish billboard this Friday.
