Many Romanians postpone periodic visits to the dentist, some scared of the specific interventions, others, of the prices.
It is the case of a young man who went to dentist for a trivial cavity, but he came out of there with a treatment plan that would cost him 20,000 lei, as he reported in an online post.

Now I have braces too. It was my decision to follow the plan, because I can avoid more complex problems in the future. The bite is not correct and I have noticed that the jaw tends to lock easily.
If you only wanted to get rid of the decay, you only paid for the decay and that was it. But I personally don’t know anyone who has had braces and is not satisfied. Besides, I don’t mind at all. I always have a box of small brushes with me, for the device. If you can afford the cost, I recommend following the plan. The confidence that healthy teeth give you is often overlooked. Besides, it’s about your health.”

“I’m a dentist. Please don’t listen to every story you read on reddit written by people shocked by the cost of treatments.
It’s absolutely ok to go to 2 dentists to get 2 different opinions, but it’s not at all ok to think that you don’t have to listen to a dentist when they recommend a treatment.
Those 4 masses taken out for fun because they mess up turn into endo treatments and crowns on several masses very quickly, removing the mass costs a few hundred lei, the problems that a mind mass can cause can easily reach thousands of lei.
And I understand that not everyone can afford braces, they are expensive, but if you can afford it then it’s a massive investment in your health and happiness. A beautiful smile and health are wonderful.
It’s easy to get scared of a bill now and think your dentist is making up problems when he knows what to expect and explains it to you.
Listen to what he says, go home and check online if what he said sounds true to you, get 1-2 more opinions from good dentists and then decide.
But don’t throw “this guy wants money, I want him to fix my caries, not suck me money” as if all he can do is give it to you impale.”

I too have braces and the incorrect bite and this year I should theoretically have my bite aligned. I knew that it was incorrect since I was a child and all the dentists I went to recommended braces + bite correction.
At the moment the appliance is doing its job – the teeth have moved apart. I also removed 3/4 of my wisdom teeth (some were decayed). I’d say it’s worth the effort.”
