In recent weeks, the United States has figuratively split into two colors – black and white. According to President Miloš Zeman, people protesting against racial violence have become racists themselves.
The “slogan” depends on black lives “is a racist slogan, because it depends on all human lives,” said Miloš Zeman.
“It really evokes the lives of whites or Asians, and I’m half Asian that our lives don’t matter,” added SPD chairman Tomio Okamura.
Demonstrations against racism, according to politicians, gradually turned into looting or burning cars. Some blockbusters did not escape attention either. The Oscar-winning Forrest Gump, which is awarded six times, is said to have stopped broadcasting – one of the characters is named after the first leader of the Ku Klux Klan.
“Banning films is stupid, tearing down statues is certainly also stupid. It is true to the Bible, who of you is without sin, be the first to throw a stone,” said MP Petr Gazdík (STAN).
According to Czech politicians, the situation in the United States is exacerbated and something needs to be done about it.
“With his statements and actions, the American president rather deepens the trenches and tensions in that society,” says MP František Kopřiva (Pirates).
According to some opposition politicians, the Czech president is right, but he could forgive the statement. Miloš Zeman said it at the American embassy during the Independence Day celebrations. According to the opposition, it was a bit inappropriate.
