Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo ended up playing for Saudi Arabian soccer club Al Nasr.

Al Nasr revealed the fact of the contract with Ronaldo through the official website.

“We have signed a historic deal,” said Al Nasr, “and we will work together with Ronaldo to achieve even more success.”

Ronaldo also said: “I want to experience a new football league in another country” and “I’m happy to be with my teammates.”

Al Nasr, owned by Prince bin Nasser, is runners-up in the Saudi League this season.

It is also the original team of Kim Jin-soo, who is a defender for our national team and currently plays on loan for Jeonbuk in the K-League.

Ronaldo, who had been in conflict with his former club Manchester United over previous job controversies and bombastic comments towards the club, was virtually released by the club ahead of the opening World Cup match in Qatar.

Since then, Saudi Arabia has been consistently cited as the next destination for Ronaldo, who has been unable to find a team to play in Europe.

The duration of the contract with Al Nasr is until 2025 and, although the specific terms of the contract have not been disclosed, it is known that the annual salary is 200 million euros, or about 270 billion won.

A figure that surpasses the French Mbappé, currently the highest paid player in the world.

Although Ronaldo is considered Messi’s rival, his performance this season and in the World Cup has not been rated as before.

For the first time since his professional debut, Ronaldo will wear the number 7 for an Asian team.

The focus is on whether he will face the K-League side in the Asian Football Confederation’s Champions League, which has been criticized for its ‘no show’ in the 2019 Korean match.
